The Forbidden Corner
The Forbidden Corner is a unique labyrinth of tunnels, chambers, follies and surprises created in a four acre garden in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales and next to The Saddle Room. The temple of the underworld, the eye of the needle, a huge pyramid made of translucent glass, paths and passages that lead nowhere, extraordinary statues – at every turn there are decisions to make and tricks to avoid. The Wensleydale Railway operates heritage diesel train services between Scruton and Leyburn and offers a great day out for all the family. Middleham Castle
Best known as one of the childhood homes of Richard III, Middleham Castle dominates the North Yorkshire town of Middleham. From the core of its Norman great tower, one of the largest in the country, the castle developed under the powerful Nevilles into a residence worthy of a family who dominated English affairs for over two centuries. Richard, Duke of Gloucester (later Richard III) spent his youth at Middleham and it became one of his royal homes. A great day out for all the family

Brymor Ice Cream Palour
We’re the home of real Yorkshire ice cream, handmade with love here on our farm at High Jervaulx near Masham. We use local milk and cream from cows grazing the Dales all around us to create our award-winning Yorkshire ice cream. Come and visit our ice cream parlour, where you’ll find fun for all the family including play areas, a gift shop and even a dedicated doggy exercise field!

Hackfall
Situated on the edge of the beautiful Yorkshire Dales within the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Hackfall covers 47 hectares (nearly 120 acres) of ancient semi-natural woodland within a steep, rocky gorge of the River Ure.
This ancient woodland has been restored to its former glory and boasts original features such as grottos and glades, rustic temples and waterfalls, as well as carpets of bluebell in spring and an impressive number of woodland birds.
