1. You can choose from a variety of venues on the Estate
One of the best things about having your wedding here at the Tupgill Estate is the amazing choice of venues each with their own unique charm and character. We have our newly refurbished Bell Barn with a stunning feature fireplace to dazzle your guests or for something a little less ordinary for a pre wedding day dinner is our quirky wine cellar with vaulted ceilings and hidden passage… For smaller wedding parties we also have the Hayloft that boasts beautiful views across the Estate or our Fishing Temple that is an impressive backdrop for wedding photos.
2. Delicious catering packages tailored to you!
One of the most important elements of any wedding is the food and this is where we believe we excel. Our wedding menus are delicious and inventive and tailored to suit your tastes. From impressively presented canapes to three course fine dining, we look to create a menu both you and your guests will never forget.
3. You can incorporate the award winning Forbidden Corner attraction into your day
Anyone who has visited the Forbidden Corner will tell you there is no other place quite like it! The attraction is a labyrinth of tunnels, chambers and follies all more creative and surprising than the next. We know that more and more couples are looking for something a little extra from their wedding day and their wedding photography and the photo opportunities at the Forbidden Corner are endless!

We think everyone should be able to have a fun filled day and evening too and have a range of beautifully appointed rooms on the Estate (and within stumbling distance!) from our wedding venues. We also have Self Catering options for guests who with bigger family groups who would all like to stay together.

There is a phrase by Chinese Philosopher Lao-Tzu that perfectly sums up Laura and Adam,
“Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage”
Laura and Adam are a very special couple who recently tied the knot here at The Saddle Rooms. In 2013 Adam was diagnosed with an extremely rare cancer called pseudomyxoma peritonei and given only weeks to live. After hearing about a pioneering surgery Adam and Laura took the decision for Adam to undergo the same procedure.
Adam underwent a gruelling 17 hour surgery performed by a skilled team of 30 people that involved replacing Adam’s pancreas, spleen and stomach. Adam is one of only 4 people in the world to survive this intense surgery and is a true testament to his strong and determined character and their love as a couple.
This May Adam and Laura were married in our beautiful new Bell Barn in a ceremony that left no dry eyes. Their friends and family did a fantastic job of decorating the venue and the weather was perfect on the day.
We are very humbled to have been chosen as the venue for this extremely special day and wish the happy couple all the best for their future together.
We are delighted to announce that we are finalists in this year’s prestigious White Rose Awards run by Welcome to Yorkshire!
The awards are the biggest celebration of Tourism in the UK recognising excellence in 17 categories and the best businesses in Yorkshire.
We have been nominated in the best Inns & Restaurants with Rooms Award and are humbled to be shortlisted with other fantastic businesses in the area.
Judges for this year’s awards have remarked on the tough job they will face judging this year’s categories ahead of the awards later in the year.
“With so many strong entries, shortlisting was very difficult this year. Choosing the eventual winners is going to be really tough.” – Colin Mellors, chair of the White Rose Award judges
“The quality of this year’s entries has been exceptional and makes me feel hugely proud of all the brilliant work going on in tourism in the county. It’s an honour to be part of these awards that recognise the many businesses and organisations that make Yorkshire such an amazing destination.” – Sir Gary Verity, Chief Executive of Welcome to Yorkshire
The Saddle Room team are all looking forward to the glitzy award ceremony later in the year!
As more and more couples stray away from the traditional church wedding and village hall reception we are happy to be able to offer a flexible space for couples to have the wedding of their dreams.
A great example of this are Sarah and James. These childhood sweethearts had their hearts set on a wedding with a twist using tipis. After lots of hunting for a venue with the outdoor space to accommodate these they visited us. Our beautiful lawn that overlooks the Yorkshire Dales was the perfect space and our self-catering accommodation and bed and breakfast rooms means there is plenty space for guests to spend the night too. The bride and Groom will also enjoy the bridal suite that overlooks the lawn and rolling hills.
As well as an overnight stay there guests will also enjoy some time in the world famous Forbidden Corner attraction, we are sure this will make for some amazing photos of the couple!
We can’t wait to welcome James and Sarah as well as their family and friends in August when they tie the knot at the Saddle Room!

If you’re tying the knot this year you will no doubt be deep in the midst of wedding planning madness at the moment! To help you plan your big day down to the detail we have complied a list of hot Wedding trends for 2017 that are sure to wow your guests!
First on our list is the flowers. 2017 is all about unique and colourful floral arrangements. Think mixing big and bright blooms like carnations and gerberas and incorporating colourful pompoms and ribbons for a one of a kind bouquet!
Great catering can make or break your guests experience at your wedding. With many Wedding’s beginning early in the day and lasting late into the night, you will want to make sure your guests are well fed to avoid any rumbling tummies and disgruntled relatives! Lots of couples are now opting for additional extras such as delicious canapes for their guests whilst photos are being taken which are always well received. For an unforgettable evening reception why not opt for a hog roast?
Its official, 2017 is all about the naked cake! Despite the name, this style of cake isn’t a saucy concoction designed to make Mary Berry blush, but rather the name given to a cake that has been left deliberately ‘unfinished’. Naked cakes are great for creating a vintage chic look at weddings and when dressed with fresh flowers are the epitome of understated elegance.
Like with the flowers, something unique is the order of the day when it comes to the Wedding Venue. Many couples are looking to reflect their quirky personality on their big day and there is no better way to do this than a great venue. Here at the Tupgill Estate we have a variety of beautiful function rooms that are ideal for brides and grooms looking for something a little different. If you would like to know more about our function rooms contact us or why not come along to our Wedding Fair in May and see for yourself!
